Mr. Robot Season 3 starts off a solid premier, by moving at a faster pace, delivering a thrillingly strong straight forward story, ending it with a shocking twist, making the rest of the season look very promising.
The season starts off with a strange mysterious charcter, who is possibly an FBI diplomat (Bobby Canavale) ordering a milkshake. He then gets a call, hearing that Elliot was shocked. I really like the addition of Bobby Canavale in the new cast, as he portrays the mysterious character really well.
Elliot wakes up in Angela's apartment six days after a gun shot wound, from Tyrell Wellick. Elliot realises that Mr. Robot is gone, so he decides to end Stage 2 by shutting down the backdoor, with the help of his sister Darlene.
Elliot succeeds in this but is approach by this mysterious new character, a possible FBI diplomat who tells them that Stage 2 is off. Of course Elliot and Darlene don't believe this. Wanting to fix what he did wrong, Elliot decides to work at E-corp with the help of Angela.
The episode kept me wondering and in suspense the whole time. I didn't want it to end. I liked Elliot's inner monologue, it was intense, thrilling and powerful that drives Elliot's decision in wanting to to work at E-corp to fix up his mistakes.
I really like the direction this season seems to be taking. I like how the show is focusing more on the hacking rather than the schizophrenia. It's no secret that creator Sam Esmail was heavily influenced by Fight Club. Mr. Robot, taking over Elliot, during the night, as Elliot's alter ego, to operate on Stage 2, really reminded me of Fight Club.
The twist at the end I found shocking and interesting. The show usually does a twist similar to this about half way through the season. It is revealed that Angela has been working on Stage 2 all along, along with Mr. Robot is still around (though I knew he would somehow still be around, they wern't going to get rid of him like that) Tyrell Wellick and Bobby Canavale's character.
I like how their giving Angela a really vital storyline this season. I can't wait to see more of her working with Mr. Robot on Stage 2 this season. Also I like how their exploring the Mr. Robot alter ego, more on his own, interacting with the other characters. I always found that interesting, and I did want to see what Mr. Robot was like around the other characters.
Overall, this was a solid premiere, this season looks very promising and I look forward to seeing what else this season has in stall.
